Daily Trust report say US first deploy about 200 military personnel to Nigeria for February to support intelligence gathering, surveillance and counterterrorism efforts against ISIS and other terrorist groups for the region.
The deployment happen during period of stronger security cooperation between US and Nigeria as both countries dey try tackle insurgency around Lake Chad Basin.
During the mission, US forces also take part in intelligence-supported operations, including airstrikes on terrorist enclaves for Bauni Forest in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State on December 25, 2025.

He also highlight importance of wider African cooperation, saying better intelligence sharing fit help fight terrorism, drug trafficking and other transnational crimes.He mention one major interception of 31-ton cocaine shipment for West African coast as example of successful international coordination.The US insist say continued partnership go remain important for regional stability and economic development.
