Vice President Emmanuel Nchimbi has emphasized that justice is essential for achieving lasting peace and national unity in Tanzania.Speaking at the Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) General Assembly in Dar es Salaam, Dr.Nchimbi highlighted that protecting human rights and preserving peace are mutually reinforcing.

He cited President Samia Suluhu Hassan's statement that 'justice is the foundation of peace,' urging leaders to promote this message without fear.Nchimbi stressed that advocates of peace should not be seen as opponents of justice, and vice versa.He envisioned a Tanzania where citizens feel proud of their nationality, secure, and have equal opportunities to contribute to development.Political, religious, and ethnic differences should enrich the country's diversity rather than divide its people.Nchimbi called for greater tolerance of differing views, encouraging dialogue without labeling opponents as enemies.He also mentioned activist Maria Sarungi, hoping Tanzanians would view such engagements as constructive dialogue.

The vice president urged citizens to seize opportunities to strengthen national unity while upholding justice as the cornerstone of peace and sustainable development.
