A 18-year-old Victorian teenager accused of possessing Islamic State (IS) terror materials has been granted bail under strict conditions following a court decision.The teen was charged with collecting manuals, guides, and content promoting IS-inspired terrorism, as well as importing an IS flag.

An investigation revealed the flag was imported to Melbourne, leading to a search of the teen's property where a USB, mobile phone, and laptop were seized.The USB contained bomb-making instructions, explosives preparation materials, and a video of an explosives demonstration.Magazines promoting jihad and extremist interpretations of Islam, along with photos of IS flags, were also found.The teen's search history included references to train derailment methods, IS content, and locations of synagogues.The magistrate imposed conditions including a nightly curfew, regular police reporting, and a ban on proximity to synagogues.The Supreme Court dismissed an appeal to revoke bail, affirming the children’s court decision.The teen is expected to be released from custody later on Monday.
