Vinny Donnelly, who first captured global attention as a young child, has experienced an unexpected return to the spotlight after being invited to the UK premiere of the latest Toy Story film.
Six years earlier, Vinny’s father had recreated the iconic scene from the Toy Story franchise in which Andy leaves his toys behind, arranging Vinny’s toys at the front door as he set off for his first day at school.The touching photograph went viral worldwide in 2020, attracting widespread emotional reactions and media attention.Now aged ten, Vinny was invited by Disney Pixar to attend the premiere of Toy Story 5 at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square, London.The invitation followed renewed attention to the original viral image, which the family had largely forgotten about over time.
At the event, Vinny had the opportunity to meet several of the franchise’s most recognisable voices, including Tom Hanks, who voices Woody, and Tim Allen, who voices Buzz Lightyear.Vinny attended the premiere with his parents and sibling, marking a memorable moment for the family.His father, Sean Donnelly, reflected on the unexpected journey from a simple school-day photograph to a red-carpet experience.The Toy Story franchise, which began in 1995, remains one of Pixar’s most successful series, with the fifth instalment scheduled for release in June.The event highlighted the enduring cultural impact of the films and the emotional connection they continue to inspire across generations.
