David Elliott Pritt, a high school teacher and assistant house majority leader in West Virginia's state House of Delegates, faces charges of enticing a minor through the gaming platform Roblox.According to local news station WSAZ, Pritt used Roblox to communicate with a teenage victim, whose identity remains confidential.

Their conversations initially occurred on Roblox but transitioned to Snapchat, where they became increasingly personal, sharing personal lives and problems.

By the end of the school year, Pritt allegedly told the victim he loved them, leading to the exchange of explicit images and in-person meetings involving multiple instances of physical contact and abuse.Pritt warned the victim that if authorities intervened, it would result in public exposure and the loss of his career.

A West Virginia House of Delegates spokesperson emphasized the presumption of innocence and the legal process, stating Pritt remains a delegate unless removed.

This case joins a pattern of politicians facing child exploitation charges, such as Joel Koskan in South Dakota, who was charged with abuse of a young girl over years.The incident highlights concerns about online safety and the misuse of platforms like Roblox for predatory behavior.
