Aga Khan University Opens State-of-the-Art Research Library to Boost Academic Work
Young Africans SC (Yanga) midfielder Pacôme Zouzoua has successfully undergone surgery at Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam after suffering an injury during the final match of the 2025/26 NBC Premier League season against JKT Tanzania at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium.
According to the club’s Media Officer, Ally Kamwe, the operation was completed without complications, which has brought relief to both the club and its supporters who were eagerly waiting for positive updates.
Following the surgery, the Ivorian playmaker has been placed under a six-week medical observation period where doctors will closely monitor his healing progress and response to treatment.
However, officials have clarified that this observation period is not a confirmed return date to competitive football, but rather an early recovery monitoring stage.After these six weeks, a full medical evaluation will be conducted to determine the next rehabilitation steps.The injury incident has drawn attention across Tanzanian football, leading to messages of support from different clubs and stakeholders.In a notable gesture, Azam FC technical staff led by coach Florent Ibenge visited the player in hospital to encourage him during recovery.Meanwhile, JKT Tanzania issued an apology, stating that their player had no malicious intention in the tackle that caused the injury.The club expressed regret and wished Zouzoua a full and quick recovery.Yanga will now focus on his rehabilitation process, as the midfielder is an important part of their attacking setup.Supporters remain hopeful that the successful surgery will allow him to return stronger once fully recovered.
