Yas and ZTE Expand 5G Access in Tanzania to Boost Digital Inclusion

Yas Tanzania and ZTE have partnered to provide high-speed 5G internet services across Tanzania through an installment payment plan.The initiative allows customers to own a ZTE 5G router by making an initial payment of 80,000 Tanzanian shillings, followed by monthly installments of 80,000 shillings for 12 months.

Each payment includes an unlimited internet package with speeds up to 10 Mbps, aiming to improve access to reliable internet for individuals, businesses, and institutions.

Yas Tanzania's Sales and Internet Devices Manager, Imelda Edward, emphasized that the partnership addresses affordability challenges, enabling Tanzanians to leverage technology for economic and social opportunities.She highlighted that internet connectivity is now essential for digital payments, e-commerce, and business operations.

ZTE's representative, Wen Jiahao, noted the collaboration combines ZTE's 5G technology with Yas' network coverage to enhance digital inclusion.

The initiative supports Tanzania's growing digital economy, with plans to expand 4G and 5G networks and provide digital solutions for broader participation in the economy.

The partnership was launched at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, offering visitors a chance to experience the ZTE 5G Router and learn about the installment plan.This move aims to empower entrepreneurs, improve productivity, and connect more Tanzanians to digital opportunities.
