Zanzibar is preparing to host the International Technology and Artificial Intelligence Expo, aiming to establish itself as a key innovation hub in Africa.

Organized by Africa Business Inc and supported by the Ministry of Communications, Information Technology and Innovation, the event seeks to attract global tech giants like Google, Amazon, and Meta.

Minister Mudrik Ramadhan Soraga emphasized the need for policies that foster digital transformation and create an environment conducive to technological advancement.The expo will bring together policymakers, entrepreneurs, and experts to discuss opportunities in AI, FinTech, AgriTech, and smart tourism.With its strategic location and cultural heritage, Zanzibar aims to diversify its economy beyond tourism by leveraging the digital revolution.

Over 1,500 participants from across Africa are expected to attend the three-day event in Unguja, highlighting the island's growing role in regional tech development.
