Zanzibar hosts regional workshop on blue economy for sustainable development

Zanzibar is currently hosting the 29th Annual Research Workshop, bringing together key stakeholders from Tanzania and international partners to discuss the future of the blue economy and its role in promoting inclusive and sustainable development.

The two-day event is focused on exploring how marine and coastal resources can be better utilised to support economic growth while ensuring environmental protection and social equity.

The workshop is organised by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar in collaboration with REPOA, the National Planning Commission, and CRDB Bank Plc.

It brings together policymakers, researchers, academics, development partners, private sector leaders, and civil society representatives to share knowledge and policy ideas.

The workshop is officially expected to be opened by Zanzibar’s Second Vice-President, Hemed Suleiman Abdulla, and will serve as a platform for presenting research findings and discussing practical strategies for implementing blue economy policies.
