Zenith Bank Plc has been named Africa’s Best Bank and Nigeria’s Best Bank for the second consecutive year at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, reinforcing its position as one of Africa’s leading financial institutions.

The awards, presented in London, recognize the bank’s strong financial performance, digital innovation, customer service, and contribution to economic development across the continent.

The Euromoney Awards are considered one of the banking industry’s highest honors, evaluating institutions on strategy, profitability, risk management, digital transformation, and stakeholder impact.Zenith Bank’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Dr.Adaora Umeoji, called the awards a reflection of customer and stakeholder confidence.She emphasized the dedication of the workforce and the bank’s commitment to building a globally competitive African financial institution.The bank recorded gross earnings of N4.19 trillion and reduced its non-performing loan ratio to 3.8% in 2025.

This recognition adds to Zenith’s list of international accolades, including being ranked Nigeria’s number one bank by Tier-1 Capital for 17 consecutive years in The Banker’s 2026 Top 1000 World Banks ranking.Umeoji also thanked regulators and dedicated the awards to founder Jim Ovia for laying the foundation of excellence.
