Human rights activist and former presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore don emerge as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2027 general election after the party primary wey happen for Abuja on Tuesday.

Delegates and party leaders reportedly give am unanimous endorsement during the exercise, leading to him being officially declared winner and presented with the party flag.

According to reports from the event, supporters and party members celebrate the announcement with loud cheers and applause as Sowore accepted the nomination.

While speaking after him victory, Sowore thank delegates from different parts of Nigeria for their loyalty, sacrifice and commitment to the ideals of the AAC.He explain say the party was created to build a new Nigeria and to challenge corruption, insecurity, economic hardship and poor governance.

Sowore also repeat him long-standing criticism of Nigeria’s political establishment, saying the country needs a fresh direction away from what he earlier described during a Channels Television interview as the “same failed political class.

” Before the primary election, he had already confirmed publicly say he intended to contest for president again in 2027, though he maintained then that party delegates would decide the final candidate.
