The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the Federal Government to shift focus from celebrating rescue operations to actively preventing kidnappings.

While acknowledging the successful liberation of schoolchildren and others held captive in Oyo State after 56 days, the party emphasized that true security is measured by whether Nigerians can live freely without fear.ADC highlighted ongoing cases in Borno and Kwara States, where abductees remain in captivity despite public attention on the Oriire rescue.

The party criticized the government for prioritizing reactive measures over long-term strategies to address insecurity, warning that persistent kidnappings harm economic growth and investor confidence.They urged a comprehensive approach to tackle root causes, improve intelligence sharing, and restore security in vulnerable areas.ADC stressed that every victim's plight matters equally, urging authorities to ensure no one is forgotten due to lack of influence.
