Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats Confront Gorillaz Over Festival Set Dispute
Alkaline Trio, the Chicago punk rock band, have announced the cancellation of their 2026 UK tour, including a headline performance at 2000trees festival, due to medical issues faced by frontman Matt Skiba.
The tour, originally scheduled to begin on July 3 in Birmingham and include cities like Newcastle, Leeds, London, and Manchester, has been called off as Skiba's condition has worsened.
In a social media statement, the band expressed regret over the cancellation, stating that Skiba requires immediate treatment in the United States and will return 'healthier and stronger.' Refunds for ticket purchases are being offered.
The band's 10th studio album, 'Blood, Hair And Eyeballs,' released in 2024, was discussed in a previous interview, where Skiba emphasized the band's desire to create a unique record.
While the UK tour is scrapped, the band plans to embark on a US tour with Rise Against in September, though its impact on Skiba's health remains uncertain.
This cancellation highlights the challenges artists face when balancing creative output with personal health, and underscores the importance of prioritizing well-being over touring commitments.
