The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has alleged that its Punjab chapter chief organiser, Aaliya Hamza, who is incarcerated in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail, was subjected to a physical attack by female inmates.

According to PTI leaders, a woman inmate and around 10 others attacked Aaliya over a water-related dispute in the jail toilet, attempting to strangle her.They claimed other jailed PTI members intervened to rescue her.PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja demanded an investigation into the incident, citing negligence by prison authorities.

However, Punjab Inspector General Prisons Mian Salik Jalal denied the allegation, stating there was no physical clash, only heated words over fetching water.Aaliya was arrested in March 2026 on charges of absconding and organizing gatherings outside Adiala Jail.PTI leaders condemned her arrest as unlawful and accused authorities of fascism.The incident highlights tensions between political prisoners and jail administration, with calls for transparency and protection of detainees.
