Amanda Holden has spoken about the diet and exercise habits she says help her maintain her fitness and confidence at the age of 55.Speaking to the Daily Mail, the television presenter explained that she loosely follows advice from Elizabeth Hurley by typically eating one substantial meal a day.
She said her day often begins with an egg white omelette containing spinach, feta and avocado, accompanied by a green juice, before she waits until the evening for her next meal.
Holden described herself as a vegetarian and said this naturally encourages healthier eating, although she also enjoys treats and alcoholic drinks, particularly an Aperol Spritz.
She stressed that she does not believe in restrictive dieting and prefers a balanced approach that allows occasional indulgences rather than eliminating favourite foods.
In addition to her eating habits, Holden credited regular exercise, particularly using her Peloton bike at home two or three times a week, as an important part of her routine. She also acknowledged that genetics likely play a role in her physique, noting that several members of her family are naturally slim.
Discussing her social media presence, Holden said she ignores negative online comments and believes that public figures must accept both praise and criticism. She explained that she rarely reads hostile comments and chooses not to let them affect her.
Holden also shared that wearing make-up gives her confidence, describing it as her 'armour', and joked that sunglasses can instantly improve how she feels on an off day.
The interview also touched on her recent appearance as host of the L'Oréal Professional Colour Trophy Awards in London, which she described as a memorable and energetic event with elaborate fashion and hair displays.
