Amit Shah says voluntary return of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants will avoid legal action
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to undertake a two-day visit to Rajasthan beginning Monday night to review the security situation along the India–Pakistan border, with a special focus on countering increasing drone-based smuggling activities.
During the visit, he is expected to chair a high-level security review meeting involving senior officials from the Border Security Force (BSF), intelligence agencies, and district administration representatives from key border districts including Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Hanumangarh.
The discussions will primarily focus on strengthening anti-drone surveillance systems, enhancing border monitoring infrastructure such as laser fencing, and improving coordination between central agencies and Rajasthan Police.The objective is to curb the smuggling of narcotics, arms, and other contraband across the international border.
As part of his itinerary, Shah will arrive at Nal Airport and proceed to the BSF Sector Headquarters under tight security, where he will stay overnight.
The following day, he will visit the Sanchu Border Outpost, where he will interact with BSF personnel during a 'Sainik Sammelan' to assess operational readiness and ground conditions.He is also expected to participate in a plantation drive and virtually inaugurate newly constructed women’s barracks at the border post.
Later, a comprehensive review meeting will be held at the BSF headquarters in Bikaner, bringing together senior intelligence and administrative officials.The visit follows preparatory coordination meetings led by senior Rajasthan officials to ensure security arrangements and logistical readiness.Shah is expected to return to New Delhi after concluding the review sessions.
