Ansar-Ud-Deen calls for increased school security funding

The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has called on the Federal Government to invest more in school security infrastructure to protect students, teachers, and staff from rising threats like kidnapping and attacks on educational institutions.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Sola Hassan, the group expressed joy over the release of kidnapped Oyo children and their teachers, commending the Nigerian Armed Forces, security agencies, and intelligence units for their professionalism and dedication.

However, they remain concerned about recurring incidents of school kidnappings and attacks, stressing that educational institutions must be safe spaces for learning, not places of fear.

The society urged federal and state governments to enhance intelligence gathering, improve school protection measures, and ensure perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted.

They also appealed for increased investment in school security infrastructure, community policing, and early warning systems, especially in vulnerable areas.

The call highlights the urgent need for comprehensive measures to prevent future attacks and restore public confidence in the safety of Nigeria's education system.
