Civil society leader Rev.David Ugolor has called on Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to end decades of temporary repairs on the collapsed Benin–Sapele–Warri Road and commit to its full reconstruction.

In an open letter, Ugolor criticized the cycle of palliative fixes, stating they don't address structural failures and risk recurring emergencies funded by taxpayers.He highlighted the road's strategic importance as a key economic gateway to the Niger Delta, noting years of neglect despite federal allocations.

Ugolor blamed corruption, poor contract management, and lack of accountability for the road's deterioration, which has caused loss of lives, economic losses, and security risks.

He urged transparency in repair contracts and regional advocacy for federal intervention, emphasizing the need for a durable solution to protect communities and economic growth.
