Following the announcement, Tinubu was officially presented with the party’s flag and certificate of return by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, confirming him as the party’s standard bearer.
In his acceptance speech, President Tinubu appreciated party members for their support and acknowledged the economic hardship that has come with his administration’s reforms, especially fuel subsidy removal and foreign exchange policy changes introduced in 2023.He noted that reforms are tough but necessary for long-term stability.
Tinubu also promised that if given another four years, his government would push Nigeria towards stronger economic growth, industrialisation, energy security, food sufficiency, and better infrastructure development.Security was also a key focus, as the President pledged intensified efforts to combat banditry and restore peace across affected regions.
As the APC rallies behind him, attention is now shifting to the broader 2027 political contest where Tinubu is expected to face strong opposition from figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
