APC leader criticizes Obi-Kwankwaso's presidential bid as weak and inexperienced

Former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has publicly criticized the Peter Obi-Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential ticket, stating it lacks the political strength and governance experience needed to succeed in Kano state during the 2027 general election.

According to Daily Trust reports, Obi and Kwankwaso were initially candidates for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) but later defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), where they formed a joint ticket.

During an interview with journalists, Ganduje argued that Obi's tenure as Anambra state governor did not demonstrate the leadership qualities required to manage Nigeria effectively.

He questioned Obi's legacy and governance record, suggesting his experience in the southeast geopolitical zone was insufficient for national leadership.

Similarly, Ganduje criticized Kwankwaso's political career in Kano, pointing out that he failed to secure consecutive gubernatorial terms and left no significant legacy to convince voters of his capability as Nigeria's vice-president.

The former governor highlighted that previous leaders like Ibrahim Shekarau and himself had successfully served multiple terms, contrasting with Kwankwaso's inability to do so.

Ganduje concluded that the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket is 'dead on arrival' in Kano and beyond, emphasizing its lack of credibility and readiness for national politics.
