A tragic road accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Sri Nagar Junction under Gajuwaka police station limits in Visakhapatnam, where an APSRTC super luxury bus collided with a stationary coal-laden lorry, resulting in three fatalities and seven injuries.

The bus, which was travelling from Rajahmundry to Parvathipuram and carrying around 35 passengers, reportedly rammed into the parked vehicle around 4 a.m.The lorry had been halted on the roadside due to a deflated tyre, according to preliminary reports.

The impact of the collision was severe, causing instant death to the bus co-driver and two passengers, including two women, as confirmed in official statements.

Several other passengers sustained injuries of varying severity and were immediately shifted to King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam, where they are currently under medical observation.Doctors have stated that the condition of the injured is being closely monitored.

Preliminary investigation by the Gajuwaka Traffic Police suggests that overspeeding and negligent driving by the bus driver were the primary causes of the accident.A case has been registered, and a detailed inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the crash.
