Bali Run Club Founders Face Legal Action Over Alleged Discrimination Claims

The founders of the Entourage Run Club, a popular event for expats and digital nomads in Bali, have been banned from returning to Indonesia after allegations of excluding local residents.

The two Dutch men, known as 'JAS' and 'HQV', are accused of barring Indonesians from joining their events, with leaked WhatsApp messages suggesting they prioritized international participants.

Bali's immigration director, Hendersam Marantoko, ordered an arrest warrant for the founders, citing violations of regulations and discrimination against locals.

The run club had organised a 'Silent Disco Run' but faced backlash after marketing efforts were allegedly restricted to foreign phone numbers.Despite claims that Indonesians made up 25% of ticket sales, automated approval processes reportedly favoured Western names. The club has since apologised, pausing all events and acknowledging errors in their inclusion policies. However, the incident highlights tensions between expat communities and local populations in Bali's growing tourism sector.
