Apple, Google, and WhatsApp Expand Security Features to Defend Users Against Advanced Spyware Attacks
The online store for Based Apparel, a clothing brand associated with former FBI director Kash Patel, was taken offline on Friday after reports emerged that the website was compromised by malware.
The initial alert came from a social media user who identified the presence of an infostealer, a type of malicious software designed to capture users' credentials and personal information.A security researcher later confirmed the findings.Attempts to contact Based Apparel or Kash Patel directly for comment were unsuccessful.
This incident comes in the same week as a separate security breach involving Trump Mobile, where customers’ personal information, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and order details, was exposed online.
Both cases highlight ongoing cybersecurity concerns affecting businesses associated with politically prominent figures, underlining the risks of malware attacks and data exposure for online ventures.
