Stormers welcome key returns ahead of URC quarter-final against Cardiff in Cape Town
The Bulls are set for a challenging United Rugby Championship quarter-final against Munster in Pretoria on Saturday, following a disappointing result for Connacht against Glasgow Warriors on Friday night.Bulls coach Johan Ackermann stressed the importance of moving past what could have been a favourable situation and focusing on the match ahead.
Munster have a well-documented history of upsetting stronger teams, including a remarkable run in 2023 where they won the quarter-final, semi-final, and final away from home. This season, Munster also defeated Leinster in Dublin, signalling their intent to make life difficult for the Bulls. The teams met previously at Loftus a month ago, with the Bulls narrowly winning 34-31 after conceding 17 late points.Ackermann highlighted that the coaching staff analysed that game, noting areas to improve but emphasising the need for a fresh mindset. The Bulls will field a strong squad including captain Marcell Coetzee, Handre Pollard at flyhalf, and Willie le Roux in fullback.Munster will counter with Craig Casey as captain, JJ Hanrahan at flyhalf, and Mike Haley in the backline. The clash promises to be intense, with both sides aware that a single opportunity could determine the outcome.Kick-off is scheduled for 1pm at Loftus Versfeld, with Italian referee Andrea Piardi in charge.
