Businessman Faces Court Over Alleged Property Damage to Rival Rehab Centre

Prominent businessman and rehab centre owner Phillimon Moloto, known as Mr Moloto, is appearing in Polokwane magistrate’s court accused of malicious damage to property.

The case involves allegations that he set fire to a 'Rehabilitation Centre' signboard in Ladanna and a Toyota Hilux vehicle in Seshego, causing extensive damage worth approximately R800,000.

The fires reportedly spread to a portion of a house where seven occupants were asleep, though neighbours managed to extinguish the flames before further harm occurred.

Moloto, who owns Limpopo Anti-Drugs, Gangsterism, and Crime (Ladgac), faces backlash from supporters of Ladgac Lebo, a rival rehab centre owned by Lebo Rachidi.Manager Daniel Lekganyane demanded no bail for Moloto, arguing the incident endangered lives and called for justice.The case was consolidated with another charge, with Moloto briefly appearing in court before being transferred to Polokwane.Community tensions remain high as supporters of both parties gather outside the courthouse.
