The rice assistance under the Mula sa Puso para sa Pamilya initiative, funded by the Local Government Support Fund, is being implemented nationwide as part of the President's ongoing support for vulnerable communities.Newly appointed Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr.joined First Lady Liza Marcos in distributing free rice to 3,100 beneficiaries in Mandaluyong, including 2,000 senior citizens, 1,000 jeepney and tricycle operators, and 100 children with disabilities, each receiving 10 kilos.Abalos emphasized his role as the President's representative, coordinating with agencies to address local concerns.Former Mandaluyong mayor Ben Abalos and League of Cities of the Philippines president Francis Zamora also participated.

This initiative reflects the government's commitment to alleviating poverty through targeted aid, ensuring food security for marginalized groups while fostering community engagement and transparency in resource allocation.
