Cabo Verde Simplifies Entry Rules with Visa-Free Access, EASE Registration, and Visa-on-Arrival Options

Cabo Verde continues to promote international tourism by maintaining one of Africa's most accessible entry systems for foreign visitors.Citizens from the European Union, the Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, China, South Africa, Singapore, and Brazil can generally enter the country without obtaining a traditional visa for stays of up to 30 days, provided they complete the mandatory Electronic Airport Security Entry (EASE) pre-registration and pay the Airport Security Tax before traveling.

The government has also extended visa-free stays of up to 180 days for citizens of ECOWAS and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), supporting regional mobility, tourism, business, and family travel.

Travelers who are not eligible for visa-free entry can usually obtain a tourism visa upon arrival at four major international airports, including those on Sal, Boa Vista, Santiago (Praia), and São Vicente islands, with visas typically allowing stays of up to 90 days.

Cabo Verde's simplified entry procedures are intended to reduce administrative barriers while maintaining border security, making the destination more attractive for leisure travelers.

The country complements these policies with its well-known attractions, including beaches, volcanic landscapes, hiking opportunities, marine activities, cultural heritage sites, and island resorts.

Domestic transportation between islands is primarily provided through flights and ferry services, while taxis, minibuses, and rental cars serve local transportation needs.Overall, the country's streamlined travel policies reinforce its position as an accessible island destination for international visitors.
