The third edition of the Chinar Book Festival, held in Srinagar, attracted thousands of attendees despite summer heat, highlighting its significance as Jammu and Kashmir's largest literary event.

Inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the nine-day festival emphasized the transformative power of books in shaping youth and fostering intellectual growth.

Sinha praised the National Book Trust and collaborators for creating a vibrant literary movement, quoting Urdu poet Bashir Badr to underscore literature's timeless impact.Over 200 publishers showcased books in multiple languages, while activities included author interactions, workshops, and cultural performances.The event also featured a Children's Corner and a 5K Reading Run, promoting reading as a communal effort.

Organizers aimed to blend education with entertainment, encouraging participants to engage deeply with the content and carry the experience beyond the festival.
