The City of Cape Town will set up its 'Basket of Services' team at the Gugulethu Civic Hall (NY50) on July 22 to offer residents direct access to municipal support.

This initiative, led by Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services Alderman Theresa Uys, aims to reduce travel costs and hassle for citizens by bringing services closer to the community.

Residents can attend between 9am and 3pm to engage with departments such as HR, Community Projects, Business Hub, Customer Relations, Energy, Health Care, Safety and Security, and Jobseekers Support.

The event will allow unemployed youth to register for EPWP opportunities and access bursaries, while older residents like Martha Ncube will benefit from reduced travel burdens.

Gugulethu resident Bongeka Makola highlighted the value of direct engagement with HR representatives, emphasizing the opportunity for young people to connect with employment programs.The move reflects a broader effort to improve accessibility and responsiveness in municipal service delivery.
