A 29-year-old gunman, Jamir Diduanda Sailon, was arrested in Cotabato City after ambushing a tricycle driver and wounding two others.The incident occurred in Barangay Poblacion 5 on July 12, 2026.Sailon, who resides in Sultan Kudarat, confessed to the crime during a checkpoint operation on July 13.The attack resulted in the death of Bassir Gapor, a tricycle driver, and injuries to an off-duty policeman and a minor.Sailon aimed to kill Police Cpl.Titing Kauring, who was involved in an illicit affair with his wife.Local residents and the 6th Marine Battalion aided in his capture.The arrested suspect is now detained at Cotabato City Police Station 2, with his weapon and motorcycle confiscated.Authorities expressed gratitude to the community for facilitating the arrest.
