The Dangote Refinery has achieved a major milestone by becoming Europe's biggest supplier of aviation fuel for June 2026, exporting 466,000 metric tonnes (worth ₦757 billion) surpassing the United States.This marks Nigeria's growing role as a key player in global fuel exports.The refinery's output has helped Nigeria transition from a net importer to exporter of petrol and aviation fuel.

Analysts note this shift strengthens Nigeria's position as an emerging African refining hub, especially with global supply chains adjusting post-Middle East tensions.

While European jet fuel demand is currently oversupplied due to increased local production, traders expect market balance as summer travel rises and refiners focus more on diesel.

The refinery's aviation fuel exports rose sharply from May figures, highlighting its expanding capacity and Nigeria's potential in the energy sector.
