Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has strongly rejected calls for his removal from government, stating that he will not leave the administration he helped build.

Speaking at the 11th Annual Farmers Field Day in Meru, Kindiki dismissed political pressures suggesting President William Ruto should replace him as his running mate for the 2027 election.

He accused opponents of playing political games and emphasized his deep roots in the Kenya Kwanza government, comparing his position to building a house that cannot be abandoned.Kindiki acknowledged private urging from allies to step down but rejected it, arguing that leaving would undermine the progress made.

Analysts and politicians are divided over whether he can secure Mt Kenya's vote for Ruto, with some suggesting alternative running mates from Western Kenya or Nyanza.

Kindiki framed himself as a founding figure of the government rather than a political convenience, positioning his role as legitimate and essential to the administration's stability.
