Dhani Harrison, son of Beatles legend George Harrison, and renowned Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich have formed the new band Dragonflies, releasing their debut single 'Slower'.

The self-titled debut album, set for release on September 18 via Dark Horse Records, blends tape loops, layered percussion, and Harrison's vocals into a hazy, trip-hop-inspired sound.

The track's psychedelic video, directed by Bristol animator RUFFMERCY, features hand-drawn visuals and references to artists like Portishead's Beth Gibbons and Japan's David Sylvian.

The collaboration began during the pandemic when Harrison sought Godrich's advice for his solo album 'Innerstanding', leading to a creative process described as 'one person throwing something in the air and the other catching it'.

Godrich, known for his work with Radiohead and Thom Yorke, shaped the songs in real-time, while Harrison focused on vocals and guitar, stepping away from detailed computer-based production.The project draws influences from 'earthbound space rock', reflecting a fusion of organic and electronic elements.

Godrich's career spans decades of production work, including albums by Beck, Paul McCartney, and Arcade Fire, alongside his own musical ventures like Ultraísta and Atoms For Peace.This collaboration marks a significant creative milestone for both artists, blending their distinct styles into a new sonic identity.
