DJ Chicken, a social media personality popularly known as Abiodun Ademola, was arraigned in Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over allegations of threatening to kill Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son.

The 37-year-old defendant, residing in Lekki, was charged with three counts: threat to life, publication of offensive material online, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.Ademola pleaded not guilty, denying the charges.

Prosecutors claimed he uploaded a video to Facebook and Instagram, threatening Seyi’s life if President Bola Tinubu contested or won the 2027 election.The video was alleged to have circulated to instill fear in Seyi.The prosecution cited Sections 232 and 168(d) of Lagos State’s Criminal Law and Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015, for the violations.The court granted ₦1 million bail with conditions, requiring two sureties, tax proof, and verification by Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.The case was adjourned until August 3 for further proceedings.The incident highlights tensions around online threats and legal repercussions for public figures.
