Douglas Perrett, a prominent New York casting director and founder of COACD, has documented the early careers of some of the world’s most iconic supermodels.His limited-edition book, Wild Things, released in 2012, compiles Polaroid casting photos taken between 2000 and 2010.

These images capture models at their initial 'go-sees,' often without makeup or retouching, offering a rare, unfiltered glimpse at figures like Miranda Kerr, Chanel Iman, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Candice Swanepoel before they achieved global recognition.

The Polaroids are celebrated for presenting models in a neutral, raw format, highlighting the differences between initial casting appearances and later editorial perfection.

This collection not only serves as a visual record of the pre-digital casting era but also preserves a moment in fashion history when Polaroids were the standard tool for evaluating talent.

Only 250 copies of Wild Things were printed, making it a rare and valuable artifact for enthusiasts and historians of fashion from the 2000s and 2010s.
