Dr. Janette Nesheiwat Joins Walter Reed Team Treating Patients With Havana Syndrome

Dr.Janette Nesheiwat, a physician and former Fox News contributor, has begun a new position at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where she is helping treat military personnel, intelligence officials, diplomats, veterans, and family members affected by Havana Syndrome and related neurological conditions.

In interviews with Fox News Digital, Nesheiwat described the role as a “profound honor” and emphasized her commitment to caring for service members who suffer from traumatic brain injuries, blast exposure, and complex neurological symptoms.Havana Syndrome refers to a collection of unexplained neurological and vestibular symptoms reported by U.S.officials and their families stationed overseas.Although some officials have suggested that a hostile foreign actor could be responsible through the use of directed-energy weapons, U.S.intelligence agencies and congressional investigators have not reached a definitive conclusion about the cause.

Nesheiwat explained that her work focuses on evidence-based and compassionate care aimed at helping patients recover functionality and improve their quality of life.

She also noted that military service has deep personal meaning to her because several members of her family served in conflicts including the Korean War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan War.In addition to her new duties at Walter Reed, Nesheiwat volunteers in emergency care within the Department of Veterans Affairs system.

She is double board-certified in family medicine and urgent care medicine and previously served in leadership positions during the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health crises. She was formerly nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as U.S.Surgeon General, though her nomination was later withdrawn amid disagreements over vaccine-related issues.

The article also mentions that she has reportedly initiated legal action against media outlets that she believes misrepresented her professional background.
