Dubai has launched a new tourism incentive program called 'A Dubai Invite' to attract visitors following a sharp decline in tourist numbers due to recent conflicts involving Iran.

The initiative, which offers UAE residents and citizens reward packages worth up to AED 3,000 ($816) for nominating friends or family to visit, aims to counteract the impact of missile attacks and geopolitical tensions that have significantly reduced hotel occupancy rates from 80% to a projected 10%.

The program allows participants aged 18+ with valid Emirates IDs to recommend up to three guests for stays between now and October 31, with benefits including hotel stays and dining offers.

Officials emphasize the importance of personal connections in rebuilding tourism confidence, as the emirate seeks to restore its reputation as a safe destination.

Despite efforts like suspending hotel taxes and removing municipal fees, Dubai faces challenges in overcoming reputational damage from recent attacks, which have led to travel warnings and hesitancy among international visitors.Experts note that while infrastructure remains intact, the psychological impact of the conflict poses a significant barrier to recovery.
