The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has strategically deployed its top leadership to contest major metropolitan areas ahead of the November 4 local government elections.

Party leader Julius Malema unveiled a list of high-profile mayoral candidates during the EFF's 13th anniversary celebrations in Thohoyandou, Limpopo.Key appointments include Tlaleng Mofokeng, a former UN special rapporteur on the right to health, as Johannesburg's mayoral candidate.Mofokeng will face off against DA's Helen Zille, ActionSA's Herman Mashaba, and the ANC's yet-to-be-announced candidate.Other notable appointments include Godrich Gardee for Mbombela, Omphile Maotwe for Tshwane, and Nontando Nolutshungu for Cape Town.Malema emphasized the importance of functional municipalities, linking local governance failures to the erosion of citizens' dignity.He called the elections a 'choice between victory or death,' stressing the need for clean governance, reliable services, and accountability.
