The Enugu State government has approved a series of major infrastructure and tourism projects aimed at addressing housing deficits, improving transportation networks, and promoting ecotourism.

Key initiatives include the construction of 1,000 fully detached terrace housing units and 18,000 mass housing units in Gateway Estate to tackle rising property prices.The state also approved a 10.5km road project connecting Igogoro to Amachara, along with flood mitigation works on Nsukka’s major roads.

Tourism development is highlighted through three landmark projects: the Ovu Lake Golf Resort (featuring an 18-hole course and luxury hotel), the Attakwu Ecotourism Project (developing a pristine forest and natural lake into a wildlife sanctuary), and the Okpatu–Awhum Cable Car, which will link the Cross of Hope to Awhum Waterfall via three stations.These projects aim to enhance visitor experiences while creating jobs and boosting local economies.The state’s focus on sustainable development underscores its commitment to balancing urban growth with environmental preservation.
