The Ezza Ezekuna Youth Assembly (EEYA) has rejected Ebonyi State's zoning arrangement for the governorship, arguing that competence and credibility should determine leadership.

During a gathering in Onicha Local Government Area, EEYA's National President, Sunday Orogwu, criticized the 'Charter of Equity' as outdated and harmful to democracy.He claimed the zoning system favored the Abakaliki bloc, denying the Afikpo bloc fair opportunities.Orogwu highlighted historical injustices, including the alleged theft of the 2023 election from Ifeanyi Odii, and called for merit-based leadership.The group formally endorsed Odii's 2027 gubernatorial bid, emphasizing their commitment to equity, justice, and good governance.Orogwu urged Ezza youths to support Odii, believing he has the vision to advance Ebonyi State.The controversy underscores deeper political tensions over power rotation and regional representation in the state.
