Rahul Gandhi interacts with auto-rickshaw drivers in Delhi, discusses livelihood challenges
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has dismissed remarks attributed to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, in which he reportedly suggested that the NDA government could collapse within a year.Responding to the claim, Fadnavis criticised the statement and said it reflected unrealistic thinking, comparing it to “daydreaming”.
He referred to the popular Doordarshan television serial ‘Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne’, saying Rahul Gandhi’s comments were similar to the fantasies depicted in the show.
According to BJP sources, Rahul Gandhi made the remarks during a meeting of the Congress minority department’s advisory council, where he allegedly predicted instability in the PM Modi-led government.
Fadnavis made these comments while attending the inauguration of the Godam Logistics Park in Nagpur, an event also attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Alongside his political remarks, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in Maharashtra, particularly focusing on logistics. He stated that the state’s comprehensive logistics policy has helped position Nagpur as a growing national logistics hub.He further noted that new logistics parks are expected to reduce operational costs for industries and improve efficiency in the manufacturing sector.
Fadnavis emphasised that reducing logistics expenses is essential for India to remain competitive in global markets and integrate effectively into international supply chains. He said ongoing infrastructure projects and policy measures are aimed at strengthening Maharashtra’s economic role while boosting industrial growth.
The statement reflects both a political exchange between the ruling BJP and opposition Congress, as well as the state government’s continued focus on infrastructure-led development to support business competitiveness and economic expansion.
