Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, was seen interacting with a group of auto-rickshaw drivers in Delhi on Friday afternoon.

As per reports and visuals shared by news agency ANI, he was spotted wearing an auto driver’s uniform during the interaction held at Todarmal Park in the Bengali Market area.The meeting involved informal engagement with drivers, including sharing a meal and discussing their daily struggles.

The auto drivers raised concerns regarding rising living costs, inflation, and difficulties in securing stable income amid increasing fuel prices, which they linked to global geopolitical tensions such as the US-Iran war impacting oil prices.

During the interaction, Rahul Gandhi reportedly listened to the grievances of the workers, took selfies with children present at the site, and assured the drivers that their issues would be raised in Parliament.

One of the drivers mentioned to ANI that the leader discussed matters such as insurance, employment insecurity, and financial support for their community.The drivers also expressed appreciation for the unexpected nature of the meeting and the opportunity to share a simple meal with him.The report also highlights that this is not the first instance of Rahul Gandhi engaging with labour groups.

In earlier occasions, he has met daily wage workers in Delhi and spoken about the lack of respect and financial stability for manual labourers in India.

He has previously stated that addressing the concerns of workers and ensuring dignity for labour remains a key part of his public engagement and political focus.
