A 44-year-old woman tourist was allegedly molested and her family members attacked by a mob armed with iron rods and baseball bats at Bhavali Dam in Nashik district on Sunday.The incident occurred when the group, reportedly consisting of eight to nine individuals, chased the SUV carrying the woman and her family members.After stopping the vehicle, the mob molested the woman, beat her husband, and tore her clothes.They also seized her mobile phone and a 20-gram gold chain from her husband, who was assaulted during the confrontation.The family later filed a complaint with Igatpuri police, submitting video evidence of the attack.Nine suspects were arrested, including those from Girnare, Nandgaon Sado, and Manikkhamb villages.Police registered cases of molestation, attempt to murder, and dacoity against the accused.Further investigations are ongoing, with additional suspects identified through CCTV footage.The incident highlights rising concerns about public safety and mob violence in rural areas.
