The federal government has ramped up its efforts to combat bullying in schools, encouraging students to report incidents without fear.This renewed campaign is part of the Safe School Initiative, aimed at creating safer learning environments across Nigeria.The initiative was reinforced during a workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).Education Minister Tunji Alausa emphasized the importance of protecting students' well-being and fostering respect in schools.

Aisha Garba, UBEC's executive secretary, urged students to adopt the 'If you see something, say something' approach, ensuring victims and witnesses feel safe to report bullying.

The ministry highlighted that sustained awareness campaigns and strict implementation of the National Policy on Anti-Bullying have already led to a decline in reported cases.The government remains committed to collaboration with stakeholders, improving reporting mechanisms, and ensuring effective anti-bullying measures.This aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to provide secure, inclusive, and learner-friendly schools for all Nigerian children.
