Five laborers from Punjab were killed in a targeted attack in Washuk district of Balochistan on Sunday, according to Deputy Commissioner Saleem Shahid.The incident occurred near the Pakistan-Iran border during Operation Shaban and other counterterrorism operations.Armed assailants on motorcycles opened fire on a shop where the workers were employed, leaving all five dead on the spot.Security forces swiftly secured the area and transported the bodies to a government hospital in Mashkail.Authorities are conducting a search operation to trace the attackers.

This incident follows a pattern of attacks on Punjabi workers in Balochistan, including similar incidents in Kalat, Barkhan, Gwadar, and Musakhail districts.

The provincial government has reported eliminating 109 terrorists since July 5, but the frequency of such attacks highlights ongoing security challenges in the region.The victims' families will be notified, and their bodies will be sent to Punjab for final rites.Local officials emphasized the need for continued vigilance amid persistent threats.
