In a joint operation between Karak and Kohat police, four terrorists affiliated with the 'Commander Zahid Group' were killed in the Khattak Dam area along the Karak-Kohat border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The operation, initiated based on credible intelligence, involved a coordinated effort where police faced gunfire from the terrorists and responded effectively.

The statement from Karak police highlighted the terrorists' involvement in previous attacks on security personnel and emphasized their commitment to eradicating terrorism.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the police for thwarting 'India-sponsored terrorists,' while the Annual Security Report 2025 noted a significant rise in violence in KP, with fatalities increasing from 1,620 in 2024 to 2,331 in 2025.

The police also launched a search operation to gather details on the killed terrorists' identities and criminal records, reaffirming their dedication to maintaining regional security.
