A terrorist attack on the Mangi Dam police post in Ziarat resulted in the martyrdom of nine police officials, including two station house officers, and the elimination of 15 alleged terrorists during a clearance operation.

The Ziarat superintendent of police (SP) has been suspended by the provincial government, which also established a four-member inquiry committee to investigate the incident.

The committee's mandate includes examining the sequence of events, assessing security protocols, identifying negligence or operational lapses, and recommending disciplinary actions.It will also propose measures to strengthen security at critical infrastructure sites.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti directed a high-level meeting to review the law and order situation, meet the families of martyrs, and emphasize the need for coordinated operations against terrorists.

The incident highlights ongoing security challenges in Balochistan and underscores the government's commitment to accountability and improved counter-terrorism strategies.
