Heavy rains from Super Typhoon Inday, known internationally as 'Bavi,' triggered catastrophic flooding in several provinces under the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Over 60,000 villagers in Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, and Lanao del Sur were forced to evacuate their homes as floodwaters surged through low-lying areas.

The Philippine government, along with the Bangsamoro government, deployed emergency responders, including over 1,000 military personnel and 600 police officers, to assist affected communities.

Relief supplies such as tents and food were distributed to displaced residents, with temporary shelters set up in government buildings and covered courts.The worst-hit areas included Parang, Sultan Mastura, and Tambunan, where flashfloods overwhelmed infrastructure and left families stranded.

Officials like BARMM Chief Minister Abdulrauf Macacua and Major General Jose Vladimir Cagara emphasized coordinated efforts to provide immediate aid and long-term recovery support.

The disaster underscores the vulnerability of regions prone to extreme weather events, highlighting the need for enhanced flood mitigation strategies and community resilience programs.
