A woman died and a motorcycle rider was injured after being hit by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) with the House of Representatives logo in Mandaluyong.The incident occurred around 4 a.m.on Ortigas Avenue in Barangay Wack-Wack.The SUV driver fled the scene, leading to a brief police chase that ended with the suspect's arrest.Col.Reynan Patam, Mandaluyong police chief, confirmed the vehicle's connection to the House of Representatives is under investigation.The deceased, identified as Sheila, was a back rider of the motorcycle, while the rider was taken to the hospital.The suspect faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and property damage.The case highlights ongoing traffic safety concerns and the need for stricter enforcement against hit-and-run incidents.
