A resident of Ghotki, Abdul Wajid, has been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for forging an appointment letter that falsely claimed he was a Grade-17 employee of the National Assembly (NA) Secretariat.
The forged document bore the signature of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, leading to allegations that Wajid misused his fake status to obtain undue privileges and harass citizens.The NA Secretariat clarified that Wajid had no official connection with the secretariat and that the appointment letter was entirely fabricated.
Legal proceedings against him have been initiated, with the FIA and Sindh police collaborating to trace the source of the forged document and identify any accomplices.The incident underscores the risks of fake documents and the importance of verifying official credentials.
Authorities warned that using forged letters or impersonating government officials is a punishable offense and urged citizens to report suspicious activities to law enforcement.
